FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. When does my membership renew? Your BBS membership automatically renews and the credit card on file is billed for membership fee.

  2. Can I purchase a membership as a gift? Yes. These memberships are only good for one year. When registering for the membership, use your gift recipient’s information. We will also include a special note to let them know you were thinking of them!

  3. Can non-BBS members attend excursions and events as guests? Yes, however the discounted member benefits are not extended to guest tickets

  4. How do I become an ambassador? To become a BBS Ambassador, please visit www.blackbourbonsociety.com/ambassadors to review the criteria and submit your application. Once our team reviews your application, you will receive an e-mail informing you of the decision and what the next action steps would be.

  5. How do I edit my information in Joinit? Log into the BBS membership portal. Click "Your Membership," scroll down to "Edit Membership Info" and update your information .

  6. I don't know my username and/or password. What should I do? Click the "Login" button, then "Forgot password" and reset your username and/or password.

  7. After becoming a member of BBS, when will I have access to the membership website? Once you complete the membership application and submit payment, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you

  8. Can I transfer my membership to someone else? No.

  9. Can I share my membership with someone else? No.

  10. I signed up as a member, when will I receive my membership box? Once you sign up as a BBS member, please allow 3-6 weeks to receive your Welcome Box.

  11. How do I find out about BBS events in my city? Information about upcoming BBS events is shared with BBS members through e-mail and social media.

  12. Do BBS members receive a discount when buying BBS bourbon? No.

  13. Can I cancel my membership and receive a refund? Yes, you may cancel your membership at anytime, however, a refund will not be issued. As a member of BBS, you can cancel your membership at any time by logging into your membership portal at JoinIt.org. Please note that cancelling your membership cannot be undone. If you have any questions about cancelling your annual BBS membership, please reach out to cheers@blackbourbonsociety.com before preceding.

  14. Where can I find information about my local Ambassador events? Ambassadors communicate information about upcoming events to BBS members within the respective regions via e-mail, the BBS membership platform, as well as the private BBS FB group.

  15. Do I have to be Black to join BBS? No, Black Bourbon Society is open to all who actively and enthusiastically support the cause of improving diversity and inclusion disparities within the spirits industry.
